Breeding Philosophy

If You Can’t Find It, Make It — For the Wash

We’re not chasing shelf photos. We’re building genetics that perform in ice water and sing on the press — head size, clean break, sandy melt, and terp translation above all.

Our Principles

Mission-First

Make What’s Missing

When we couldn’t find true rosin genetics, we created them. Every line begins with a solventless outcome in mind.

Evidence, Not Hype

Resin Over Bag Appeal

We select for wash behavior and press quality — not just frost or colour. Performance > photography.

Clarity & Flavour

Terps That Translate

We prize terp intensity that survives freeze-dry and press: candy tropics, gas, savoury funk — clean and loud.

Our Method

Reversal-Based, Feminized

  • We reverse elite female washers using STS to create feminized pollen.
  • Keeps the breeding pool focused on proven resin traits.
  • Delivers predictable expression for solventless outcomes.

Closed-Loop Validation

  • Clone → flower → wash → freeze-dry → press — then decide.
  • If it doesn’t wash or press bright/clean, it’s out.
  • Decisions guided by resin mechanics, not anecdotes.

Selection Criteria

Trichome Mechanics

  • Head size target: 90–120 µm (filters clean, falls like sugar).
  • Neck brittleness: clean snap at the head–stalk junction.
  • Resin feel: sandy over greasy; stable under cold work.

Solventless Outputs

  • Bright, wet press with strong terp carry-through.
  • Colour and clarity appropriate to cultivar.
  • Repeatable performance across runs.

Testing & WPFF

We evaluate plants against measured WPFF (Whole Plant Fresh Frozen) returns and solventless quality benchmarks.

Protocol

  • 3-wash collection focused on 73–159 µm fractions.
  • Freeze-dry to standard moisture; press & cold-cure checks.
  • Record yield %, melt quality, press colour, terp retention.

Interpreting Yield

  • 3–4%: workable; consider terp profile and colour.
  • 5%: excellent — true washer territory.
  • 6%+: elite — genetics + process dialed.

Ethics & Transparency

What We Won’t Do

  • No untested hype cuts just for names.
  • No claims without wash/press verification.
  • No bait-and-switch phenos in releases.

What We Promise

  • Genetics selected for solventless first.
  • Clear notes on wash behaviour and press outcomes.
  • Iterative improvement: if it can be better, we make it better.

FAQ

Why feminized only?

Reversing proven female washers keeps selection pressure squarely on the traits that matter for solventless, reducing guesswork and increasing uniformity.

Do you publish data?

We share methodology and snapshots in Lab Notes, and reference typical WPFF bands where relevant. Full runs vary by grow and process — that context is always included.
